The Gabba welcomes fans back!

The Gabba looks forward to welcoming back fans, in a staged return to venues from this weekend!

There has been a lot of work done by The Gabba team alongside the Brisbane Lions, AFL and health authorities to facilitate the return. 

Your game day experience may be a little different to usual, as we navigate the strict health and safety measures approved in our COVID-Safe site-specific plans to keep our spectators, staff and players safe.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Check with the Brisbane Lions directly for more information around how tickets will be allocated. A small allocation of tickets will be made available to the general public via Ticketmaster
  • Extra cleaning and sanitisation pre, during and post event with a focus on high traffic areas like hand-rails
  • Increased health and hygiene signage
  • Patrons displaying respiratory symptoms will not be permitted
  • Socially-distanced ‘checkerboard’ seating plans (with groups of patrons to be seated in alternate rows, socially distanced from other groups)
  • Segmented seating zones (with dedicated staff, food and beverage and amenities to reduce contact and congestion points)
  • Cashless payments for food and beverage purchase
  • Some activations such as kick to kick or player autographs will be paused to ensure social distancing requirements are met
  • Ticketing system which supports contact tracing
  • Social distance, with 1.5m between yourself and others
  • Follow signage, sit in your designated seat and follow the advice of staff
  • Wash your hands or use sanitiser regularly
  • Cough or sneeze into your elbow and dispose of tissues responsibly
  • Stay home if you feel unwell or have been in contact with someone who has felt unwell in the past 2 weeks

Free public transport is still available to ticket holders, four hours prior to, and four hours after each game.

Food and drinks will still be available to purchase at the game, though a limited menu will be available to reduce queue times and make decisions easier for patrons.
 
All food and drinks must be consumed in your seat. Patrons will not be able to linger on concourses or remain standing whilst consuming food or beverages.

Prohibited Food and Beverage Items
 

  • Commercial food from takeaway and fast food outlets (e.g. McDonalds, Subway, KFC, Pizza, etc.)
  • Commercial drinks (with the exception of plastic sealed soft drink / or sports drink up to 600ml, commercial water up to 1.25L personal quantities only). Any quantity over this may be asked to be cloaked by security or venue staff.  
  • Alcohol
 

Permitted Food and Beverage Items

 
  • Sealed commercial water - up to 1.25 litres
  • Plastic sealed soft drink / or sports drink up to 600ml – personal quantities only
  • Lollies, chips / biscuits and similar items - personal quantities only
  • Fruit 
  • Poppa (tetra pack) fruit juice - one serve (250ml) per person (cannot be frozen). Any quantity over this may be asked to be cloaked.
  • Home-made sandwiches, cakes, muffins, biscuits
  • Thermos Flask for tea or coffee (may be checked for alcohol)
  • Baby food
  • Special Dietary requirements and allergy based food

Due to the touch points and communal nature of the bubblers, it is a condition under the venue COVID Safe Plan that water points are disconnected. There will be some additional consideration for patrons wishing to bring additional water into the venue, however this only applies to water.
